Champions!
You could never guess how many champions there are in LOL. 80, 100, or perhaps 120? NOPE! Actually, there are 166 champs (as of December 6, 2023), which means there are 166 different characters you can choose to try, learn, play, and master! Stats
Now, let's talk about numbers! Each champion boasts unique stats, influencing how they perform in the game. From attack damage to ability power, movement speed to attack speed—these stats are unique and define your champion's strengths and role on the battlefield.
Most of the names are pretty much self-explanatory, but I will explain briefly:
- Attack Damage (AD) - Physical damage dealt by auto attacks. Examples of champs that build AD: Draven, Camille, Yasuo, Lee Sin
- Ability Power (AP) - Make abilities do more magical damage. Examples of champs that build AP: Annie, Zyra, Gwen, Elise
- Armor and Magic Resist - Defensive stat to reduce physical damage and magical damage respectively taken. Tanks usually build items with these stats: Malphite, Ornn, Shen, Alistar
- Attack Speed - How fast your champion auto-attacks
- Ability Haste - Lower cooldown, and allows ability to be cast faster
- Crit Chance - Chance that your auto-attack does twice as much damage
- Health - Indicated by green bar. Amounts of damage taken before you die
- Mana - Indicated by blue bar. Each ability costs a specific amount of mana to use
